This year the Chinese program plans to invite a few alums to come back (though Zoom) and give talks to students about how they have used the skills that they have learned at Williams in their career path.
The first talk will be next Thursday (Oct. 22) at 7-8 pm and the first speaker is Mr. Brian Connors (’00). The title of his talk is “A Career Using Chinese, From Beijing to the State Capitol and Back.”
Brian Connors (’00) is Executive Director at the Michigan-China Innovation Center, which advises Michigan’s government on Greater China affairs, coordinates senior delegations, and works to attract Chinese investments to the U.S. Earlier in his career, he founded and operated the Bridge Cafe, a successful cafe chain in Beijing. Mr. Connors graduated from Williams with an Asian Studies (Chinese) degree, studied at the Hopkins Nanjing Center, and received a master’s in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.
