Slater Rhea, a singer, songwriter and TV personality in China with a following of millions, will mark the Chinese New Year with an evening of Chinese folk songs.
Known as a “Musical Diplomat” for his mastery of Mandarin and Chinese song genres, commitment to the US-China relationship and strong international relations background, Slater graduated with dual degrees in Asian Studies and Chinese language from Oklahoma University, before earning a Master’s in International Politics and China Studies at the Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center. Rhea lives in Beijing where, in addition to his entertainment career, he holds a position as Lecturer in English and International Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University.
