Elsie Qiu ’25 won the first prize at The 12th Annual Consulate General of Japan in Boston Japanese Language Essay Contest

Elsie began studying Japanese her first year at Williams. Now a sophomore, she is in the fourth-year Japanese class and participated in the 12th annual Consulate General of Japan in Boston Japanese Language Essay Contest.  Her essay, “Utsukushii bunka ga aru kara nihon ga suki” [Profundity of Japanese Aesthetics: The Reason Why I love This Culture], won first prize in the college-level advanced division.
